NEW PARTNERSHIPS
Three partnerships moved this quarter. Each one exists because a specific piece of work was easier to
do together than alone.
GIMPA, Ghana
The agreement with the Ghana Institute of
Management and Public Administration connects
Kigali and Accra through faculty and student
exchange, joint research, Collaborative Online
International Learning classrooms, a joint policy
laboratory,
emerging
a
mentorship
changemakers,
programme
and
for
professional
development courses delivered together.
The COIL component is the one to watch. It
places a class in Accra and a class in Kigali on the
same problem in the same term, without either
needing a plane ticket.
The EJS Center, Liberia
Conversations advanced with the Ellen Johnson
Sirleaf
Presidential Center for
Development
toward
a
Women
proposed
and
five-year
partnership: the Ellen Johnson Sirleaf Executive
Leadership in Governance Platform, offering
executive education to African women leaders
across three tracks. Under the arrangement
discussed, the EJS Center would host the
platform and recruit and manage its participants,
while ASG would serve as academic partner,
responsible for curriculum, faculty and quality
assurance.
Vanguard Economics and the PFPR
The partnership was soft-launched on the main
forum stage during the Commitments to Action
segment, with remarks from Dr Kato Kimbugwe.
Launching it within the programme, rather than
as a side event, meant the room heard a
concrete commitment just as the forum turned to
the question of what happens next.
